Jira Plugin Development
Description: Jira plugin for precise time and worklog reporting within the software development team.
Client: US private entrepreneur.
Challenge: Our client works as a manager in a software development company and has recently faced the problem of time reporting within his team. The problem was that some team members failed to report their worklogs on time and prevented other team members from proceeding with their tasks. For more effective management our client decided to develop a plugin for internal usage that would consider the progress of the whole team and manage tasks avoiding loss of working hours. The main challenge was to organise the work of plugin the way it would engage with only those employees who fail to report on time and not bother those who do.
Solution: Within a week our client got a working prototype that performed all the basic functions. After our client has approved the prototype our Java team started to develop the plugin. We concentrated on the main feature it was intended for: checking that every team member reports worklogs on time so that others who depend on the progress of the other could set to work asap. We personally contributed to the project by giving recommendations on how this issue could be solved according to our expertise and helped to create rules according to which users were redirected to the last completed task or last opened task to log their work.
