Cats: game characters & background design
Description: 2D design for game: characters (5 cats expressing various emotions and designed in 2 positions – standing on 2 and 4 paws) and background design as well.
Client: 3D-modeller
Challenge: The task was to design 5 different 2D pictures of kittens for game to demonstrate variety of pets’ indinidualities. They were represented in 2 positions: standing on 2 or 4 paws. Also background design for the game was needed. The main challenge for this project was communication process arrangement. The backend developer acted as a customer and we faced the need to communicate with the client via developer. Another issue was to meet tight deadlines.
Solution: Our customer got 5 characters for the game. The pictures of kittens expressed various emotions (anger, joy, guilt, distraction, happiness etc.) in a clear, understandable and lovely way. The 2D design was successfully implemented into a 3D model and then integrated into the game. The client got exactly what he wanted despite 3rd party communication process, that was necessary due to the deadline. The background was used as main theme of the game. All timeframes for each iteration were followed and the project was completed on time.
