Description: The app that handles requests from potential buyers and find the nearest seller of the goods by Google Maps API.
Client: E-commerce company from Israel.
Challenge: Both sellers and buyers often spend much time to find or sell the needed product. This problem became the core concept for the app: help both sellers and buyers achieve their goals. The idea of the app is to suggest buyers the nearest place where they can buy desired product, and to give sellers a chance to “hook” customers and offer appropriate item. Our team was responsible for front-end development for the app. The task was to create user-friendly interface, cozy environment and sophisticated style.
Solution: The app is designed both for iOS and Android so we used Xamarin as a basis. Our development team also decided to use MvvmCross framework in order to reduce code duplication in iOS and Android versions. In order to enable search in surrounding stores, products’ cross-checking and image cropping we implemented google services to expand the app’s functions. To create a request the buyer needs just to fill in the name of the product or take a picture of it and choose appropriate category. After that the app searches for nearby stores for that particular product and notifies seller with customer’s request. The app in spam-protected so that users can label irrelevant offers and block such requests to avoid spam.
Technologies: Xamarin iOS/Android, MVVMCross, Google Maps Api, Google Play Services.
Success story: The pilot Android version of the app was released shortly. The early launch allowed us to schedule next steps for iOS version with premium features and improved functionality.
