Description: Mobile app that enables managing video stream between 2 mobile devices.
Client: E-commerce company from Israel.
Challenge: Our client requested us to develop a working prototype that performed basic features of his concept project he planned. Being the owner of an e-commerce business he needed a mobile video remote controller. The app was initiated to make remote purchasing possible and give buyers a chance to shop online and choose products via video. So that one device had to perform as “eyes” in the store and the other could manage the video stream by tapping: zooming the picture, moving it up and down, to the right and to the left in order to view goods in details and buy afterwards.
Solution: This project needed a real-time SDK as a basis adapted for mobile purposes. From engineering point of view we had 2 variants possible: ooVoo and IceLink frameworks. Together with the customer our team chose IceLink because it matched the required Xamarin version. After a week of development our customer got a working prototype. All planned features were implemented: touch commands, zooming and ability to choose options among goods on shelves.
Technologies: Xamarin studio/C#, Xamarin Android, IceLink, WebSync
Success story: That was a pilot version of the concept project of our client. Our solution has become a reliable proof that the concept works and our prototype became a basis for concept project based on the idea to help buyers make the decision to buy products remotely.
