Real-time Management system for 1000+ Technology Company
Description: Online management portal to simplify the management processes in the company with centralized access to all needed info.
Client: 1000+ US microwave networking company.
Challenge: Our client is a world leader in microwave networking solutions. With more than 50 years of experience in the industry, staff has got used to Excel, so all employees-related data, info on projects and accounting was kept there. To avoid data integrity issues and miscommunications within employees, the company decided to organize management issues into efficient portal with basic features like: storing and maintaining information about the employees, tracking project’s delivery flow and assignments, controlling resources needed for project deliveries. The system had to be time-saving, easy-to-operate and to maintain. The customer wanted to get portal with centralized access to all needed data.
Solution: Our team suggested to develop an intranet app with flexible Windows authentication. So that managers could easily store and operate information according projects to develop and available resources using both single and multiple assigning options. By using SignalR technology that encapsulates WebSocket live communication ability we enabled information exchange between browser and server. We also used Knockout and implemented MVVM pattern to ensure client’s business logic. Due to high involvement our team suggested features that enabled: navigation between pages, simple structure and optimized data selection. Employees could benefit from online editing and clear interactive design that visualized all changes. We also used Bootsrtap 3.0 to add up-to-date flat buttons, tabs, navigation, pop-ups etc. Moreover, the app was able to provide reports, filter data and apply “What if” script.
