Atlassian is an Australian software company that provides solutions for team management. Have you heard of Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, HipChat? These all are Atlassian products.
Before we start, here’re some quick facts about the company and its products:
- Founded: 2002 (14 years of building high-end solutions)
- Customers: 51 000
- Employees: 1 400
- Products: 12
- Headquarters: Australia
Do you use any Atlassian product? If yes, tell us who sold it to you? Maybe some salesperson or promotional team? Perhaps none of them. Just because Atlassian has no salespeople.
But how did they manage to top the list of SAAS giants and get in on IPO (with market capitalization of almost $5.8 billion in December 2015)?
Because their products are awesome. Really.
With two of their flagships – JIRA and Confluence, Atlassian managed to create a leader platform for tracking software development projects’ progress.
The list of their customers can speak itself: NASA, Toyota, Netflix, Twitter… And it’s just the beginning.
Despite the fact Atlassian products are great, companies struggle to adjust and extend their features according to their specific needs. There are more than 1k add-ons and extensions for Confluence and Jira, and we, as their partner have managed to deliver some for our customers already.
NexGenDesign is a respected partner for developing products based on Atlassian technologies. We’ve been helping our customers get the most of Jira, Confluence and the rest of Atlassian products for 6 years already. Recently we joined the Atlassian partnership program after completing Confluenced-based website and custom JIRA plugin for software development houses from Norway and the USA.
Why are we so proud now?
Our Santa’s present for 2016 was getting an Atlassian Partner status and we’re honoured to be one. Atlassian has trusted us to be their featured expert based on our expertise and ability to provide their customers with the top notch solutions. What does it mean?
It means that NexGenDesign is the right company for developing add-ons, plugins for existing apps based on JIRA, Confluence, Stash and Bamboo as well as developing Atlassian-based websites, adjusting and consulting on Atlassian products and features, sell licences etc.
What projects can be developed based on Jira and Confluence?
Enough with lyrics now, let’s discuss what can be done and used on practice. A lot of people tend to think that only big companies can make use of Atlassian-based SAAS. It’s a mistake. Both small (up to 10 people) and big companies with multiple projects, teams and interactions can experience all the benefits it can bring. So you’re in the right place to start.
JIRA-based services allow to track progress of each stage of the project, set up and manage issues for better workflow. For all Agile and Kanban fans it’s an opportunity to keep track on the project (by using Tempo plugin for time-tracking, for example) and stay focused using their common scrum or kanban boards. These add-ons also provide detailed reporting together with information on spints performance.
Atlassian products are also well-known for its scalability and ability to be easily customised, so each team can adjust some of its features according to their needs. Sometimes it’s hard to identify where to start and what to do and that’s the moment we come to help.
